R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Kemper Crabb is an outstanding Texan who has touched
  the lives of many people with his charitable acts; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Crabb is the founder of the Order of Servants of
  the King, a nonprofit organization that constructs churches,
  schools, orphanages, and hospitals in rural areas of Africa and
  Asia; he was inspired to start the group after taking a mission trip
  to India and witnessing the extreme difficulties experienced by the
  disadvantaged families he met there; and
         WHEREAS, In the years since he began this worthwhile project,
  Mr. Crabb has worked extensively in India, Nepal, and Uganda;
  Servants of the King has built hundreds of places of worship and
  scores of other beneficial facilities, and the group's initiatives
  have helped improve the lives of countless impoverished and
  underserved citizens; and
         WHEREAS, A native of East Texas and a graduate of Sam Houston
  State University, Mr. Crabb holds bachelor's and master's degrees;
  he enjoyed a rewarding 30-year career in education, serving as a
  coach, athletic director, and professor of kinesiology before
  turning his attention to his philanthropic endeavors; in
  recognition of his exceptional contributions, he has been nominated
  for the Nobel Peace Prize on three occasions, and he is the
  recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from his college alma
  mater; and
         WHEREAS, Kemper Crabb has given generously of his time and
  energy to carry out good works around the globe, and he may reflect
  with satisfaction on his many notable achievements; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Kemper Crabb for his dedicated
  philanthropic efforts and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Crabb as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
