R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Spring Branch Community Health Center |
|
|
commemorated its 10th year of service to area residents in 2014, and |
|
|
the achievement of that milestone provides a fitting opportunity to |
|
|
recognize this worthwhile organization; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2004, the Spring Branch Community Health |
|
|
Center is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing |
|
|
accessible, affordable, and comprehensive health care services to |
|
|
individuals in need; SBCHC targets a number of chronic health |
|
|
issues among the underserved members of the community, including |
|
|
such concerns as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and |
|
|
depression; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The center works toward and promotes a continuity of |
|
|
services and coordination among services to ensure that all the |
|
|
health needs of its patients are met; in addition, SBCHC removes |
|
|
economic barriers to treatment, charging for services on a |
|
|
sliding-fee scale based on family income and size; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine institution currently serves more than |
|
|
10,000 patients at its three locations in the West Houston area; |
|
|
SBCHC has been honored for its commitment to high quality medical |
|
|
services with a Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Spring Branch Community Health Center is |
|
|
committed to improving the quality of life for area Texans, and its |
|
|
outstanding efforts are continuing to benefit the lives of |
|
|
Houstonians in myriad ways; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the Spring Branch Community Health |
|
|
Center on the occasion of its 10th anniversary and extend to all |
|
|
those associated with the organization sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in their important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
