R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close when Ruth Fort Baker of Houston passed away on January 4,
  2015, at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. E. S. Hutcherson, Ruth
  Hutcherson was born November 12, 1929; after earning her education
  degree from Baylor University in 1950, she taught kindergarteners
  at Second Baptist and River Oaks Baptist Schools in Houston, and she
  subsequently served on the faculty at schools in Garland, Waco, and
  Orange County, California; she later worked as an executive
  assistant at The University of Texas at Dallas; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to those professional endeavors,
  Mrs. Baker played an active role in the life of her church; while a
  congregant and member of the staff at First Baptist Church of
  Dallas, she organized the women's ministry and served as a Chapel
  Choir sponsor; she later affiliated with Plymouth Park Baptist
  Church in Irving, where she again established a women's ministry
  and where she directed the young married division; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Baker was joined in matrimony to David L. Fort
  in 1950, and they became the parents of two children, Kristen and
  David; Mr. Fort passed away in 1975, and in 1984, Ruth Hutcherson
  Fort married the Reverend Bo Baker; during a marriage that spanned
  26 years, she assisted her husband in his pastorate at Plymouth Park
  Baptist and later served with him as a missionary in Germany and
  Argentina; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to her family and to her faith,
  Ruth Fort Baker led a life that was rich in purpose, and those who
  were blessed to share in her love and affection will forever hold
  her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ruth Fort Baker and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  daughter, Kristen Ruth Moore, and her husband, Gary; to her son,
  David Stephen Fort, and his wife, Jamie; to her grandchildren,
  Joshua Moore, Ashlea Moore Taylor, Zachary, Conner, Jessica, and
  Lynnson Fort, Jake Abel, and Jonathon and Stephen Baker; to her
  great-grandchildren, Baxter and Simon Moore and Lillian and Pearl
  Taylor; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruth Fort
  Baker.
