R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Audrey and Louis Kariel of Marshall
  celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 23, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Louis Kariel and the former Audrey Daniels were
  united in matrimony at Temple Beth-El in Corsicana in 1950; through
  the years, their family has grown to include their children, Nancy
  and Mark, as well as their grandchildren, Jason Kariel and his wife,
  Rene, and Melissa Wolfson and her husband, Steven, and
  great-grandchildren, Isabel and Max Kariel and Brooke Wolfson; and
         WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Marshall, Mr. Kariel worked
  in his family's business, The Hub Shoe Store, until his retirement
  in 2001, and Mrs. Kariel notably served as the mayor of Marshall
  from 1994 until 2001; they have both been involved in a number of
  civic efforts, including restorations of T&P Depot and the Harrison
  County Courthouse, and Mrs. Kariel is currently working with the
  Harrison County Historical Museum on an exhibit for the city's
  historic Temple Moses Montefiore; they are also valued members of
  Temple Emanu-El in Longview, and they enjoy traveling with friends
  and family; and
         WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65
  years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
  their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has
  enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
  and optimism; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Audrey and Louis Kariel on their
  65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
