R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dashuang Liang has been named co-valedictorian of |
|
|
the Class of 2015 at Lee High School in Houston along with her twin |
|
|
sister, Xiao-Shuang Liang, and she indeed merits special |
|
|
recognition for receiving this significant honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of co-valedictorian requires not |
|
|
only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to |
|
|
the highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the |
|
|
two top ranking students in her class, "Amy" Liang demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her |
|
|
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|
|
of a notable high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Passionate about computer science, Ms. Liang |
|
|
tirelessly pursued her goals by taking Massachusetts Institute of |
|
|
Technology OpenCourseWare and edX classes; she has excelled in |
|
|
debate and proven herself a leader among her peers by cofounding Key |
|
|
Club International, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, |
|
|
and Junior State of America at her school; furthermore, she |
|
|
organized a tutoring program for students struggling to pass |
|
|
standardized tests and helped collect donation money for UNICEF |
|
|
every Halloween; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her years at Lee High School, Amy Liang has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence |
|
|
have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That Dashuang Liang, co-valedictorian of the Lee |
|
|
High School Class of 2015, be congratulated and that she be extended |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Liang as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
