R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dashuang Liang has been named co-valedictorian of
  the Class of 2015 at Lee High School in Houston along with her twin
  sister, Xiao-Shuang Liang, and she indeed merits special
  recognition for receiving this significant honor; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of co-valedictorian requires not
  only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to
  the highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the
  two top ranking students in her class, "Amy" Liang demonstrated a
  thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her
  attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
  of a notable high school career; and
         WHEREAS, Passionate about computer science, Ms. Liang
  tirelessly pursued her goals by taking Massachusetts Institute of
  Technology OpenCourseWare and edX classes; she has excelled in
  debate and proven herself a leader among her peers by cofounding Key
  Club International, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta,
  and Junior State of America at her school; furthermore, she
  organized a tutoring program for students struggling to pass
  standardized tests and helped collect donation money for UNICEF
  every Halloween; and
         WHEREAS, During her years at Lee High School, Amy Liang has
  earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates,
  and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence
  have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this
  outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That Dashuang Liang, co-valedictorian of the Lee
  High School Class of 2015, be congratulated and that she be extended
  sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next
  exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Liang as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
