R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Xiao-Shuang Liang has been named co-valedictorian |
|
|
of the Class of 2015 at Lee High School in Houston along with her |
|
|
twin sister, Dashuang Liang, and she indeed merits special |
|
|
recognition for receiving this significant honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of co-valedictorian requires not |
|
|
only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to |
|
|
the highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the |
|
|
two top ranking students in her class, "Emma" Liang demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her |
|
|
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement |
|
|
of a notable high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Passionate about computer science and petroleum |
|
|
engineering, Ms. Liang tirelessly pursued her goals by taking |
|
|
Massachusetts Institute of Technology OpenCourseWare and edX |
|
|
classes; she is a leader among her peers and cofounded Key Club |
|
|
International, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and |
|
|
Junior State of America at her school; furthermore, she served as an |
|
|
inspiration to her fellow students, encouraging them to attend |
|
|
school and participate in high-level academics such as University |
|
|
Interscholastic League competitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During her years at Lee High School, Emma Liang has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence |
|
|
have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th |
|
|
Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Xiao-Shuang Liang, |
|
|
co-valedictorian of the Lee High School Class of 2015, and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Liang as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
