R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, December 28, 2015, marks the 30th wedding |
|
|
anniversary of Edalio Salinas and Rebecca Romero-Salinas of Corpus |
|
|
Christi, and this joyous event provides a fitting opportunity to |
|
|
reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Edalio Salinas and the former Rebecca Irene Romero |
|
|
were united in matrimony at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Corpus |
|
|
Christi in 1985; they are the proud parents of a daughter, Regina |
|
|
Alexandria Salinas, with whom they treasure spending many special |
|
|
occasions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Valued residents of their community, Mr. Salinas |
|
|
and Mrs. Romero-Salinas both attended Corpus Christi State |
|
|
University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in music and she |
|
|
earned bachelor's and master's degrees in curriculum and |
|
|
instruction; Mr. Salinas taught at neighboring school districts |
|
|
until becoming a music director in the Corpus Christi Independent |
|
|
School District, from which he retired after 28 years of service; |
|
|
prior to her retirement, Mrs. Romero-Salinas had a notable 29-year |
|
|
career as a secondary math teacher at Driscoll Middle School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
three decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|
|
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Edalio Salinas and Rebecca |
|
|
Romero-Salinas on their 30th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
