R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Oleta Horton Collier of Goldthwaite, who passed away on March 3,
  2015, at the age of 95; and
         WHEREAS, Born on September 24, 1919, in the Caradan community
  in Mills County, the former Oleta Horton was the daughter of John
  Raymond and Bertie Huckabee Horton; a lifelong resident of Mills
  County, she graduated from Goldthwaite High School and belonged to
  the First United Methodist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Following the death of her first husband, Lester
  Kerby in 1943, she was fortunate enough to find love again with
  Glynn Collier, with whom she exchanged wedding vows on October 16,
  1954, at a ceremony in Goldthwaite; while devoting herself to her
  home and family, she also worked for a time as a clerk at
  Yarborough's; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Collier was active in the PTA, Band Boosters,
  and many sports fund-raising events when her children, Tommy and
  Glenda, were younger; later in life, she nurtured a passion for
  travel and enjoyed participating in the Local Bank Travel Club, and
  she met weekly with a group of her friends to play Skip-Bo, Canasta,
  and 42; she delighted in preparing delicious meals and desserts for
  her loved ones, and she was a "second mother" to many of the guests
  she welcomed at her table; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Oleta Collier
  will remember the way she touched their lives with her warmth and
  kindness, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Oleta Horton
  Collier and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her husband, Glynn Collier; to her son, Tommy Ray Collier, and Rich
  Hisey; to her daughter, Glenda Kay Lindsay; to her grandson, Marcus
  Laramie Lindsay, and Mattie; to her granddaughter, Jessica Glynn
  Lindsay; to her great-granddaughter, Landree Lindsay; to her niece,
  Virginia Crawford, Doug, and their daughter; and to her other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Oleta
  Horton Collier.
