R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas |
|
is pleased to recognize Lillie Mae Wieding for her many |
|
contributions to the Three Rivers community and her exceptional |
|
service as president of First State Bank; and |
|
WHEREAS, Lillie Mae Wieding was valedictorian of her |
|
graduating class at Three Rivers High School; she began her career |
|
at First State Bank as a bookkeeper in 1951, when bank records were |
|
kept in hand-written ledger books and the terms of a home loan fit |
|
on a single page; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, she learned the details of the |
|
banking business by working in a wide variety of positions; she |
|
served as a cashier, teller, loan officer, and vice president; she |
|
was elected to the board of directors and named bank president in |
|
1990; and |
|
WHEREAS, Under her outstanding leadership, the bank |
|
continued to grow and prosper and to play an important role in the |
|
life of the community; she established the annual tradition of the |
|
bank's free holiday dinner, and she helped many people to maintain |
|
their businesses; in addition, she has served on numerous community |
|
boards, has been a member of many organizations and clubs, and is a |
|
lifetime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, she is beloved and respected by |
|
area citizens, and it is truly fitting that she receive special |
|
recognition for her generous spirit and her many achievements; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize Lillie Mae Wieding for her exceptional |
|
contributions to the people of Three Rivers as a community leader |
|
and as president of First State Bank and extend to her best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
of Representatives. |
