R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Teen and Police Service Academy of El Paso is |
|
making a positive difference in the lives of young West Texans; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to reducing the social distance between |
|
at-risk youth and law enforcement personnel, TAPS Academy promotes |
|
interaction and discussion between teenagers and police mentors; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Student participants enhance their decision-making |
|
skills and earn course credit during the 11-week program, which |
|
addresses a variety of important topics, including abuse, bullying, |
|
truancy, and conflict resolution; and |
|
WHEREAS, By encouraging understanding between young people |
|
and law enforcement professionals, the TAPS Academy of El Paso is |
|
helping to shape a brighter future for area residents, and it is |
|
indeed deserving of recognition for its efforts; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the Teen and Police Service Academy of |
|
El Paso for its contributions to the community and extend to all |
|
involved with the organization sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for TAPS Academy of El Paso as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
