R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of James Moulton Eastland of
  Hunt on March 16, 2015, at the age of 34, has brought a tremendous
  loss to the family and friends of this beloved Texan; and
         WHEREAS, Born on February 16, 1981, to Dick and Tweety
  Eastland, James Eastland graduated from Tivy High School in
  Kerrville, where he played on the football and soccer teams; he
  received a degree in mechanical engineering from The University of
  Texas at Austin, and while there, he met his future wife, Lindsay; a
  caring husband and father, he cherished his family above all else,
  and he took great pride in his two daughters, Caroline and Anna; and
         WHEREAS, In 2004, Mr. Eastland went to work for Camp Mystic,
  a 725-acre Christian summer camp for girls that has been in the
  Eastland family since 1939; for a decade, he served the operation as
  vice president, and his many responsibilities included managing the
  camp's website, promoting the facility, assisting with finances,
  and teaching a fishing class for the campers; he endeared himself to
  his young charges and to the counselors in his employ through his
  concern for their well-being, and he believed strongly in the
  camp's mission of nurturing the personal and spiritual growth of
  young women; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Eastland was a member of the congregation at
  First United Methodist Church, and he was also active in the
  Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce, where he endeavored to support
  the economic prosperity of the city; furthermore, he was involved
  with the Eagle's Nest mentoring program at Hunt Elementary School,
  and in recognition of his myriad efforts to assist students, the
  James Eastland Mentoring Scholarship has been established in his
  memory by the Hunt Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, Although no words can diminish the pain caused by a
  life cut short, the friends and loved ones of James Eastland are
  richer for having known him, and they will forever find joy in their
  memories of time spent in his company; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Moulton
  Eastland and extend deepest condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Lindsay Eastland; to his daughters, Caroline
  and Anna Eastland; to his parents, Dick and Tweety Eastland; to his
  brothers, Richard Eastland and his wife, Leslie, Britt Eastland and
  his wife, Catie, and Edward Eastland and his wife, Mary Liz; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James
  Eastland.
