R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Raneem Ashrawi of Austin has ably served her fellow |
|
|
Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Mary |
|
|
González during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Ashrawi has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|
|
in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |
|
|
valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Samir and Faten Ashrawi, Ms. Ashrawi |
|
|
is pursuing a degree in English writing and rhetoric at |
|
|
St. Edward's University; currently in her junior year, she has |
|
|
earned a place on the Dean's List on numerous occasions, and she is |
|
|
an active member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society; |
|
|
she has served her fellow students as an orientation leader and |
|
|
freshman studies teaching assistant, and she has plans to work in |
|
|
the field of legal advocacy after graduation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Raneem Ashrawi for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary |
|
|
González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ashrawi as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
