R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Students from Silsbee High School distinguished |
|
|
themselves with their performances at the UIL District 24-4A |
|
|
Academics Spring Meet on April 11, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Facing off against talented competitors from around |
|
|
the area, Silsbee was represented by 40 students in 17 different |
|
|
academic events; the team earned 119 total points, and eight |
|
|
students secured a spot at the regional meet, including Dakotah |
|
|
Kilday, Keleigh Trabing, Rachel Cascio, and Kristen Key in literary |
|
|
criticism, Karan Korpal in calculator applications, Sarah Harper in |
|
|
journalism, Jennifer Watters in computer science, and Sheridyn |
|
|
Johnston in ready writing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With their efforts in UIL Academic competition, |
|
|
these bright young Texans have proudly represented Silsbee High |
|
|
School, and the dedication they have demonstrated is sure to serve |
|
|
them well in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the students from Silsbee High School |
|
|
for their participation in UIL Academic competition and extend to |
|
|
them sincere best wishes for continued success; and be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
