R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Livingston High School journalism |
|
|
team have distinguished themselves by winning first place at the |
|
|
University Interscholastic League District 18-5A meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Livingston Lions include Alison Faith, a junior, |
|
|
who led the squad by placing first in the features competition, |
|
|
second in both news and editorials, and third in headlines; Zoe |
|
|
McDowell, a freshman, placed second in ready writing, fourth in |
|
|
editorials, and fifth in features; the team also benefited from |
|
|
strong contributions made by freshmen Ansleigh Brister and Penelope |
|
|
Miller; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ably guided by their coach Marci Dickens, Ms. Faith |
|
|
and Ms. McDowell both qualified for the regional meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These outstanding young Texans have demonstrated |
|
|
great initiative and ability, and they may indeed look forward to a |
|
|
future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Livingston High |
|
|
School journalism team on their first-place win at the UIL 18-5A |
|
|
meet and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
