R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Wanda Martin is retiring from the
  League City Fire Department in 2015, drawing to a close a notable
  tenure in public service that has spanned three and a half decades;
  and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Martin began her career as an administrative
  assistant at a local community college before joining the League
  City Fire Department, where she rose through the ranks to become
  fire marshal; and
         WHEREAS, In that important position, Fire Marshal Martin has
  distinguished herself in such vital endeavors as fire
  investigation, education of the public about fire safety, and
  enforcement of the fire code; and
         WHEREAS, Wanda Martin's professionalism and devotion to
  public safety have greatly benefited her fellow citizens, and she
  may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks
  on the next exciting chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Wanda Martin on her retirement from
  the League City Fire Department and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Martin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
