R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Fire Marshal Wanda Martin is retiring from the |
|
|
League City Fire Department in 2015, drawing to a close a notable |
|
|
tenure in public service that has spanned three and a half decades; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Martin began her career as an administrative |
|
|
assistant at a local community college before joining the League |
|
|
City Fire Department, where she rose through the ranks to become |
|
|
fire marshal; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In that important position, Fire Marshal Martin has |
|
|
distinguished herself in such vital endeavors as fire |
|
|
investigation, education of the public about fire safety, and |
|
|
enforcement of the fire code; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Wanda Martin's professionalism and devotion to |
|
|
public safety have greatly benefited her fellow citizens, and she |
|
|
may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks |
|
|
on the next exciting chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Wanda Martin on her retirement from |
|
|
the League City Fire Department and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Martin as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
