R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close on February
  1, 2015, with the passing of Dr. Morton H. Levy at the age of 83;
  and
         WHEREAS, Morton Levy was born on June 11, 1931, to Eve and
  Harry Levy in Brooklyn, New York; following his graduation from
  Jamaica High School and Adelphi University, he went on to earn a
  doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Pennsylvania,
  and he became a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry; and
         WHEREAS, After serving in the United States Air Force,
  Dr. Levy enjoyed a successful career as a dentist that spanned more
  than four decades; he was the head of dental services at Wilson
  Hospital, and he was a founding partner in Melamed, Levy, and Levine
  Dental P.C. in Binghamton, New York, before his retirement in 1997,
  when he moved to Florida and settled in Miami Beach; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Levy was engaged in the greater community as
  well; a former president of the Oquaga Lake Improvement Association
  and the Binghamton Rifle Club, he was also on the board of directors
  for the Family and Children's Society and the Jewish Community
  Center, where he was an actor in a number of productions, and he was
  a longtime congregant of Temple Concord; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Levy enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife of 46 years, Brenda, and he was the proud father
  of two sons, Robert and Harlan; an avid outdoorsman in his free
  time, he took pleasure in skiing, shooting, and boating, and he
  taught boater safety courses to young people; a man of many
  interests, he delighted in political discussions and was never
  hesitant to speak his mind; and
         WHEREAS, Morton Levy lived a life that was rich in personal
  and professional achievements, and he leaves behind a record of
  accomplishment that his loved ones can remember with pride; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Morton H. Levy
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Brenda Levy; to his son, Harlan Levy; to his
  daughters-in-law, Lucia and Bridget Levy; to his grandsons, Gabriel
  and Jonathan Levy; to his brother, Ronald Levy; to his
  sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Marcia Margolin and Lynn and Ken
  McWilliams; to his nieces and nephews, Adam Levy, Michael
  Bellisario, and Jamie Wadham; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Morton
  Levy.
