R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Reverend Mark Anthony Proctor of Cedar Hill has |
|
been named the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Alumnus Award by |
|
Paul Quinn College; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2002, Reverend Proctor completed his bachelor's |
|
degree in organizational management at Paul Quinn College; he also |
|
holds a diploma in biblical studies from Tyndale Theological |
|
Seminary and a master's degree in Christian education from |
|
Andersonville Theological Seminary in Georgia; an ordained Baptist |
|
minister, he serves as the senior pastor of Greater Oak Grove |
|
Missionary Baptist Church in Marshall; he is employed as the chief |
|
real estate specialist for the City of Dallas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Proctor is a life member of the Paul Quinn |
|
College National Alumni Association, and he has served the |
|
organization as vice president and national treasurer; he has also |
|
served three terms as president of the group's Dallas chapter; and |
|
WHEREAS, Highly engaged in civic affairs, Reverend Proctor |
|
has shared his time and talents with many organizations, among them |
|
Dallas Men Against Abuse, Habitat for Humanity, the Marshall Mobile |
|
Food Pantry, the African American Museum--Dallas, and the Black |
|
Academy of Arts and Letters; moreover, he has been named |
|
Outstanding Club Member by the Cotillion Idlewild Club--Dallas and |
|
Outstanding Young Alumnus by the United Negro College Fund's |
|
National Alumni Council, and he received the City of Dallas WOW |
|
Award; and |
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Proctor has brought great credit to his |
|
alma mater through his professional accomplishments and |
|
contributions to the community, and he is indeed deserving of |
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Mark Anthony Proctor |
|
on his receipt of the 2015 Outstanding Alumnus Award from Paul Quinn |
|
College and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Reverend Proctor as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
