R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Trooper Matthew Ferguson is among the Texas
  Department of Public Safety personnel from House District 68 who
  have rendered outstanding service at the Texas-Mexico border; and
         WHEREAS, Through his dedicated contributions to Operation
  Strong Safety, Trooper Ferguson has helped to maintain border
  security in the Rio Grande Valley and to reduce crime in the region;
  and
         WHEREAS, Leaving his family and community behind for extended
  periods of time to fulfill his duties in this vital mission, Trooper
  Ferguson has willingly placed himself in harm's way to safeguard
  the lives and property of his fellow citizens, and he is truly
  deserving of our gratitude and praise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Texas Department of Public Safety
  Trooper Matthew Ferguson for his valorous efforts at the
  Texas-Mexico border as part of Operation Strong Safety and extend
  to him sincere appreciation for his admirable public service; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Trooper Ferguson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
