R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The untimely death of Daryl Ray Matthews of
  Pflugerville on April 26, 2015, at the age of 47, has brought an
  immeasurable loss to all who were privileged to share in the life of
  this beloved Texan; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Tyler, Daryl Matthews was born on April
  23, 1968, to Forest and Jesserene Matthews, and he grew up with the
  companionship of two sisters, Sheri and Lura, and a brother,
  Forest; he later found a devoted partner in his wife, Phyllis
  Matthews, and their relationship was a source of much happiness and
  fulfillment to him; and
         WHEREAS, Outgoing and generous, Mr. Matthews could be
  counted on to lend a hand whenever a friend needed him; his loved
  ones always had a welcome place in his home and at his table, and he
  enjoyed preparing his famous layered cakes for weddings, parties,
  and other special occasions; known for his skilled craftsmanship as
  well, he often worked alongside his father on do-it-yourself
  projects, and he was pleased to have donated his time and labor to
  build a new deck for his church; and
         WHEREAS, Although his days were far too few, Daryl Matthews
  leaves behind a host of dear friends and family who are richer for
  having known him, and they will forever find inspiration in their
  memories of his warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Daryl Ray Matthews and
  extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Phyllis Matthews; to his parents, Forest and Jesserene
  Matthews; to his sisters, Sheri Matthews and Lura O'Connor and her
  husband, Thomas; to his brother, Forest Gerald Matthews, and his
  wife, Yvette; to his nieces and nephew, Ana and Andrew Matthews,
  Charlotte Clinard, and Alicia Thompson; and to all those who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Daryl Ray
  Matthews.
