R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce are |
|
visiting Austin on May 21, 2015, to celebrate Texas-Israel Day at |
|
the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, The people of Texas and the people of Israel have |
|
many common values and interests, and the growing business between |
|
the two plays an important role in their respective economies; and |
|
WHEREAS, Major areas of interest that Texas and Israel share |
|
are energy, water, and health; examples of the beneficial |
|
relationship between the two include the discovery of natural gas |
|
in Israel by Noble Energy and the Lone Star State's use of |
|
groundbreaking Israeli water technology to help it solve its |
|
ongoing water problems; and |
|
WHEREAS, In light of the joint economic and developmental |
|
activities in which Texas and Israel are participating, it is truly |
|
fitting that a day be set aside to celebrate their longstanding |
|
friendship and to foster an even closer relationship; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize May 21, 2015, as Texas-Israel Day at |
|
the State Capitol and extend to the members of the Texas-Israel |
|
Chamber of Commerce sincere best wishes for a productive visit to |
|
Austin. |
