R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gene Taylor of McGregor distinguished himself at the |
|
|
Texas State Senior Games held in San Antonio in April 2015, winning |
|
|
his division and setting a national record for his age group; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Competing against other talented senior athletes |
|
|
from around the Lone Star State in the 400-meter dash, Mr. Taylor |
|
|
crossed the finish line in 1:15.49 to capture first place in the |
|
|
65-69 age division; moreover, his superb performance set a new |
|
|
National Senior Games record for the 400 meters; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor has actively participated in Texas |
|
|
Senior Games competitions for nearly two decades, and he enjoyed |
|
|
further success in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events at this |
|
|
year's event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This respected gentleman's athletic achievements |
|
|
are a great source of pride and inspiration for his friends and |
|
|
family, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his |
|
|
significant success; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gene Taylor on his performance at |
|
|
the Texas State Senior Games and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
