R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Austin-based Tequila 512 was awarded Best in Show in
  the silver/gold tequila category at the 15th Annual San Francisco
  World Spirits Competition held in March 2015; and
         WHEREAS, This international event features a panel of 41
  renowned spirits connoisseurs evaluating more than 1,500 liquors
  from across the globe; at this year's competition, Tequila 512 was
  presented with the prestigious double gold medal, which is awarded
  only to entrants that are unanimously voted superior, and the
  company subsequently won the coveted Best in Show title in the
  sweepstakes round; and
         WHEREAS, First setting out to craft an original tequila
  recipe in 2007, the company's founder, Scott Willis, worked
  tirelessly for the next five years to get the business off the
  ground; since its official launch in November 2012, the company has
  enjoyed dramatic growth and has garnered widespread acclaim,
  capturing gold medals at both the 2013 SFWSC and the SIP Awards and
  being crowned best tequila at the Austin Tequila Fest for two
  consecutive years; and
         WHEREAS, The State of Texas benefits greatly from a vibrant,
  diversified economy, and independent businesses are to be commended
  for the vital role they play in furthering the prosperity of the
  Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Tequila 512 on winning Best in Show
  at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and extend to
  Scott Willis and his employees sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the company as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
