R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Cevekia DeGrate and Heather Helton of the Midway
  Independent School District distinguished themselves with their
  medal-winning performance at the 18th annual Technology Olympics
  held in Waco on February 26, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, This noteworthy event was cosponsored by Education
  Service Center Region 12 and the Division for Blind Services of the
  Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services; and
         WHEREAS, Competing in a variety of tasks, approximately 70
  students from across the state gained valuable experience using
  assistive technology, including electronic magnifiers, Braille
  note-taking devices, monocular telescopes, and laptops with
  special programs; the event also included a creative writing and
  art component to encourage self-expression; and
         WHEREAS, With their participation in this event, these
  outstanding young Texans learned new ways to overcome obstacles and
  acquired valuable skills, and they may take justifiable pride in
  the dedication and perseverance they have demonstrated; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Cevekia DeGrate and Heather Helton
  on winning medals at the 18th annual Technology Olympics and extend
  to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
  for Ms. DeGrate and Ms. Helton as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
