R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Leadership Cedar Park program of the Cedar Park |
|
Chamber of Commerce is hosting its graduation ceremony on May 13, |
|
2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, An annual nine-month program, Leadership Cedar Park |
|
was established to identify and educate leaders and potential |
|
leaders in the community; its day-long sessions provide in-depth |
|
information about such topics as health care, social services, |
|
education, economic development, and quality of life; moreover, |
|
class members study the workings of government at the local, |
|
county, and state levels; and |
|
WHEREAS, Participants receive both classroom instruction and |
|
hands-on leadership skills training; in addition to touring local |
|
businesses, they attend an overnight retreat and visit the State |
|
Capitol to learn more about the legislative process; and |
|
WHEREAS, Leadership Cedar Park increases civic engagement |
|
while helping public-spirited residents to develop the qualities |
|
and abilities required to make a positive impact in their city; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize May 13, 2015, as Leadership Cedar Park |
|
Day and extend to all those associated with this noteworthy |
|
initiative sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the program as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
