R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated companies play an |
|
|
essential role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and those |
|
|
enterprises that build a record of quality and longevity are indeed |
|
|
deserving of recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In April 1973, Robstown native Ramon Alejandro |
|
|
opened Ray's Footwear, and though he continued to work in a refinery |
|
|
for a time, he took over management duties at the shop in 1976; over |
|
|
the years, he has had help from his children and nieces and nephews, |
|
|
but he now is moving toward retirement and runs the business |
|
|
himself; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Known for attentive personal service, Ray's |
|
|
Footwear has won the loyalty of many area residents while |
|
|
contributing to the prosperity of the region; after 42 years, the |
|
|
business has attained the status of a treasured community |
|
|
institution, and Mr. Alejandro indeed merits special recognition |
|
|
for his success; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ramon Alejandro on more than four |
|
|
decades as the owner of Ray's Footwear in Robstown and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Alejandro as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
