R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Baker, a music teacher at Mary Martin |
|
|
Elementary School in Weatherford, has been honored with a 2015 Best |
|
|
of the Best award by the Weatherford Star-Telegram; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Baker, now in her fourth year at Martin |
|
|
Elementary, was honored for her dedication to enriching the lives |
|
|
of her students through music and theater; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of North Texas, |
|
|
Ms. Baker initially taught in the Brock Independent School |
|
|
District, and she joined Weatherford ISD after spending a number of |
|
|
years raising her three children; in addition to her duties in the |
|
|
classroom, she works with a team of volunteers to produce the annual |
|
|
Mary Martin Elementary spring musical as a tribute to the school's |
|
|
Broadway star namesake; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Baker has served as a role model, |
|
|
motivator, and mentor, exemplifying the qualities that are the |
|
|
hallmarks of a great teacher, and she has earned the respect and |
|
|
admiration of her colleagues and students alike; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Baker on being named Best |
|
|
Teacher as part of the Best of the Best awards from the Weatherford |
|
|
Star-Telegram and extend to her warm wishes for continued success |
|
|
with her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Baker as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
