R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Richard Gil Tubb has greatly benefited his fellow |
|
Tyler County residents through his civic leadership; and |
|
WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mr. Tubb has served as |
|
president of the Tyler County Industrial Corporation, and he was |
|
previously secretary of the organization for 17 years; he has been |
|
highly involved in its efforts to attract companies and industry, |
|
and during his tenure, German Pellets chose Woodville as the site of |
|
its first United States plant; moreover, he worked closely with |
|
both the Industrial Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce to |
|
bring the Gib Lewis Prison Unit to the area; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Tubb also serves on the board of the Tyler |
|
County Hospital Foundation, and he has served for more than 20 years |
|
as president of the Tyler County Appraisal District; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Mr. Tubb was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew |
|
up on the East Coast, his family has lived in Woodville for more |
|
than a century; he moved to the city in 1967 and became involved in |
|
the family business and in the community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Gil Tubb has contributed significantly to the |
|
prosperity of Tyler County through his dedicated endeavors, and he |
|
may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Gil Tubb for his service to Tyler County |
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Tubb as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
