R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Alexander Good-Suhm, a senior at Rapoport Academy
  Meyer High School in Waco, participated in the Texas High School
  Aerospace Scholars program at NASA during the summer of 2014; and
         WHEREAS, The HAS program was established in 1999 as a
  partnership between the State of Texas, NASA's Johnson Space Center
  in Houston, and the Texas educational community to encourage
  student interest in science, technology, engineering, and math
  careers; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Good-Suhm was one of 260 high school juniors to
  join in the weeklong program at Johnson Space Center; participants
  toured the facilities, heard briefings by NASA experts, and
  presented a jointly developed proposal for a mission to Mars to a
  gathering of their parents, the space center's senior management,
  members of the Texas Legislature, and representatives from the
  Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Rotary Club; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary scholar, Mr. Good-Suhm was named a
  Commended Student for 2015 by the National Merit Scholarship
  Program; he has worked as a research assistant at the Baylor
  Research and Innovation Collaborative, and he plans to study
  physics after graduating from Rapoport Academy Meyer High School;
  and
         WHEREAS, This fine young Texan is moving toward the front
  ranks of the next generation of scientists and engineers, and he is
  indeed a source of great pride to his family and his school; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Alexander Good-Suhm for his
  participation in the Texas High School Aerospace Scholars program
  and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Good-Suhm as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
