R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Vy Nguyen of Houston has ably served her fellow
  Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Dan
  Huberty during the 84th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Nguyen has provided
  vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,
  including reading bills and addressing the needs of constituents;
  in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
  issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained
  valuable experience in the field of public service; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Anh Tran and Khoi
  Nguyen, Ms. Nguyen is a freshman at The University of Texas at
  Austin; she is an active member of the Central Texas Model United
  Nations and the University Leadership Network, and she has been
  named a Posse Foundation Scholar, a Michael and Susan Dell
  Foundation Scholar, a Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholar, and a
  Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholar; in addition, she has
  interned for the Houston City Council and will soon intern for the
  U.S. Department of State, where she plans to one day be employed as
  a foreign service officer; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
  duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Vy Nguyen for her service as a
  legislative intern in the office of State Representative Dan
  Huberty and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
  in all her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Nguyen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
