R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Rebecca Walker of Austin has ably served her fellow
  Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Mary
  González during the 84th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Walker has provided
  vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
  in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
  issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained
  valuable experience in the field of public service; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Susan Walker and Dr. Randolph
  Walker, Ms. Walker is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin,
  where she is pursuing a double major in biology and linguistics and
  a minor in Italian; she is president of She Says, a feminist
  organization, as well as a student DJ for KVRX Austin, and she
  previously served as a research assistant to both Dr. Patience L.
  Epps and Dr. Molly E. Cummings; after graduation, she plans to
  study international law; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
  duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
  indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Rebecca Walker for her service as a
  legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary
  González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Walker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
