R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Rebecca Walker of Austin has ably served her fellow |
|
Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Mary |
|
González during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Walker has provided |
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|
in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |
|
valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Susan Walker and Dr. Randolph |
|
Walker, Ms. Walker is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, |
|
where she is pursuing a double major in biology and linguistics and |
|
a minor in Italian; she is president of She Says, a feminist |
|
organization, as well as a student DJ for KVRX Austin, and she |
|
previously served as a research assistant to both Dr. Patience L. |
|
Epps and Dr. Molly E. Cummings; after graduation, she plans to |
|
study international law; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Rebecca Walker for her service as a |
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary |
|
González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Walker as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
