R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ramon Holguin can take well-deserved pride in the |
|
outstanding service he has rendered to his community as a member of |
|
the San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees; and |
|
WHEREAS, In a job that requires the commitment of public |
|
support and effective collaboration with parents, teachers, and |
|
administrators, Mr. Holguin has worked tirelessly to advance the |
|
quality of schools in his district; and |
|
WHEREAS, A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Holguin retired from the |
|
military as a sergeant first class after nearly two decades of |
|
distinguished service; he has completed a number of terms as |
|
president and vice president during his 21-year tenure with the |
|
school board, and he is also an active volunteer with such |
|
organizations as the San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society, |
|
the Veterans Committee, and the San Elizario Fiesta; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to the students |
|
and staff of San Elizario ISD, Ramon Holguin has helped foster a |
|
supportive and challenging educational environment, and in so |
|
doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of his fellow |
|
Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Ramon Holguin for his service on the San |
|
Elizario ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Holguin as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
