R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Zion Lutheran Church of McGregor has set an |
|
|
inspiring example of compassionate giving with its generous |
|
|
donation of handmade quilts to the McGregor Volunteer Fire |
|
|
Department and the Family Abuse Center in Waco; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, Zion's quilting group creates more than |
|
|
100 quilts, some of which are presented to area entities to comfort |
|
|
the homeless and other individuals in need; the balance are sent to |
|
|
the Lutheran World Relief Quilts and Kits program, along with |
|
|
personal care, school, and baby kits assembled by the McGregor |
|
|
congregation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its admirable support, Zion Lutheran has |
|
|
made a meaningful difference in the lives of people in Central Texas |
|
|
and throughout the world, and it is truly a pleasure to honor its |
|
|
members for their noteworthy contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Zion Lutheran Church for its donations |
|
|
to the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department and the Family Abuse |
|
|
Center in Waco and extend to all those associated with the church |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
