R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A group of outstanding individuals from Central
  Texas are being recognized by Navy League Austin in 2015 with the
  Theodore Roosevelt Navy League Youth Medal for their service in
  Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, National Defense Corps, and
  Young Marines units; and
         WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade is presented to young men
  and women training to enter the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast
  Guard, and Flag Merchant Marine who best exemplify President
  Theodore Roosevelt's values of energy, spirit, competition, and
  fair play; the award is authorized by the Navy League of the United
  States, a civilian organization dedicated to supporting active duty
  personnel and their families as well as students in youth and young
  adult development programs, such as the Navy Junior ROTC, the
  Marine Corps Junior ROTC, the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps,
  the Young Marines, and the National Defense Corps; and
         WHEREAS, The Navy Junior ROTC cadets from Central Texas
  receiving the Theodore Roosevelt Navy League Youth Medal in 2015
  are Chris Garcia of William B. Travis High School, Kadie Andrade
  and Hatton Ross of Fredericksburg High School, Cassandra Woliver of
  Georgetown High School, Eleanor Pitzer of Lehman High School,
  Robert Wanzer of Stony Point High School, and Samantha Knievel of
  Vista Ridge High School; and
         WHEREAS, Those members of the Marine Corps Junior ROTC who
  are being presented with the Theodore Roosevelt Navy League Youth
  Medal are Ryan Howley of Round Rock High School, Jacob J. Puente of
  New Braunfels High School, Austin Wright of Hendrickson High
  School, Brock Severson of Jack C. Hays High School, and Briana Ward
  of Brenham High School; and
         WHEREAS, The Theodore Roosevelt Navy League Youth Medal is
  also being conferred on Natasha Rae Stelter of Bastrop High School
  and Kyle Chaney of Elgin High School, both cadets with the National
  Defense Corps Unit, and on Jacob Yehl of Cedar Ridge High School, a
  member of the Young Marines; and
         WHEREAS, These exceptional young Texans have demonstrated
  great perseverance, courage, and hard work in the pursuit of their
  goals, and they are a source of tremendous pride for their schools
  and their communities; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Central Texas recipients of the
  Theodore Roosevelt Navy League Youth Medal and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the recipients as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
