R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is indeed cause for celebration, |
|
and Bessie Justiss Cason of Winnsboro marked this significant |
|
milestone in her life on February 7, 2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, The former Bessie Justiss was born in Snow Hill in |
|
1915 to Una Joe and Willie Lowe Justiss, and she grew up with 11 |
|
siblings on her family's farm in Morris County; she graduated from |
|
Daingerfield High School in 1935 and went on to attend Abilene |
|
Christian College; during World War II, she helped keep the Justiss |
|
farm operational by driving to Dallas, Shreveport, Tyler, and |
|
Longview to collect supplies; and |
|
WHEREAS, She married Eugene Cason in 1946, and the couple |
|
were blessed with three children, Lowe Ann, Carolyn, and Scott; |
|
they lived in Daingerfield until 1958, when they moved to Atlanta, |
|
Texas, for Mr. Cason's work; after retirement, she and her husband |
|
enjoyed traveling with Mrs. Cason's brothers and sisters to such |
|
varied destinations as the Arctic Circle and Mexico; and |
|
WHEREAS, Currently, Mrs. Cason resides in Winnsboro, and she |
|
looks forward to the annual family reunion at Caddo Lake; she |
|
delights in spending time with her loved ones, for whom she is a |
|
source of great wisdom and joy; and |
|
WHEREAS, Meeting life's challenges with resilience, |
|
optimism, and determination, Bessie Cason has gracefully reached |
|
the century mark and continues to enrich the lives of all who are |
|
fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bessie Justiss Cason on her 100th |
|
birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Cason as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
