R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Mayde Elizabeth McGinty of Caldwell
  County on April 23, 2015, while she was visiting Ireland, the home
  of her ancestors; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Crockett on March 26, 1940, Liz McGinty
  graduated from Texas Christian University and taught physical
  education in the Austin Independent School District before her
  retirement; she lived in Caldwell County for more than three
  decades, and she was a tireless advocate for women, children,
  education, the arts, and the environment; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. McGinty was very active in the Caldwell County
  Democratic Party, and she served as a precinct chair and election
  judge; in addition, she was president of the Texas Democratic Women
  of Caldwell County for 2013 and 2014, and she was serving as the
  vice president of the Caldwell County Tejano Democrats; and
         WHEREAS, A valued member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church,
  Ms. McGinty became a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity through her
  church involvement, and she served on the team that constructed
  Habitat's first home in Caldwell County; and
         WHEREAS, Liz McGinty touched many lives through her activism
  and volunteer work, and she will forever hold a special place in the
  hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore,
  be it 
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mayde Elizabeth
  McGinty and extend sincere condolences to her loved ones; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Liz
  McGinty.
