R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the McAllen Memorial High School |
|
|
boys' golf team distinguished themselves by capturing the District |
|
|
30-6A championship held April 6-7, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Matched up against other top squads at the Palm View |
|
|
Golf Course in McAllen, the Mustangs demonstrated poise and skill, |
|
|
shooting a two-day total of 647 to take first place and earn a spot |
|
|
in the regional tournament; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ably guided by head coach Celso Gonzales, the team |
|
|
was led in scoring by Carlos Reyes, who shot 148 to win medalist |
|
|
honors, and he was closely followed by Taylor Kucia, who shot 162; |
|
|
other team members include Will Moore, Trevor Kucia, Trey Mikulik, |
|
|
Ross Gonzales, Jake Hasler, Antonio Julia, Eli Ochoa, and Julian |
|
|
Hinojosa; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With its fine showing at the District 30-6A |
|
|
championship, the Mustang boys' golf team has added to the McAllen |
|
|
Memorial High School tradition of athletic excellence, and the |
|
|
students may take justifiable pride in their achievement; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the McAllen Memorial High School |
|
|
boys' golf team on winning the District 30-6A championship and |
|
|
extend to the team's players and coaches sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
