R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Students from Edinburg North High School won the |
|
|
regional competition in the 2015 National Science Bowl competition; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The ENHS team defeated talented competitors from |
|
|
area high schools in a variety of science and math-based events; |
|
|
participants in the regional tournament were Derek Garcia, Julian |
|
|
Medrano, Andras Balough, Christopher Rios, Juan Garcia, and Javier |
|
|
Garcia; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With this victory, the team now advances to the |
|
|
National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., where it will proudly |
|
|
represent Edinburg North High and the Lone Star State in one of the |
|
|
nation's largest and most prestigious academic competitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, These fine young Texans have distinguished |
|
|
themselves through their hard work and commitment to excellence, |
|
|
and they are a source of pride to their school and community; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Edinburg North High School |
|
|
science team on claiming first place in the 2015 National Science |
|
|
Bowl regional competition and extend to its members sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
