R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The untimely death of K-9 partner Indy on February |
|
|
15, 2015, at the age of six, brought a great loss to the Hidalgo |
|
|
County Sheriff's Office; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Belgian Malinois, Indy served the sheriff's office |
|
|
for over four years; he was dedicated to his work, and he won the |
|
|
admiration of the department for his productivity and his |
|
|
aggressiveness in confronting the criminal element; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Indy also deeply saddened K-9 |
|
|
officers from across South Texas, who joined in celebrating the |
|
|
contributions of this wonderful dog at a memorial ceremony; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his devotion to his duties, Indy embodied |
|
|
the K-9 division's motto "Semper Cavere," meaning "forever on |
|
|
guard," and although he is deeply missed, he will continue to hold a |
|
|
special place in the hearts of his colleagues; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of K-9 partner Indy and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office. |
