R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Cynthia Cervantes is graduating as the salutatorian |
|
|
of the senior class of Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi in |
|
|
2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Ms. Cervantes has demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her |
|
|
favorites being mathematics, science, history, English, and music; |
|
|
in addition, she participated in numerous extracurricular |
|
|
activities, including martial arts, band, and math club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Jose and Lydia Orta, Ms. Cervantes |
|
|
plans to continue her education by enrolling at Del Mar College to |
|
|
study music composition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Cynthia Cervantes |
|
|
has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and |
|
|
classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and |
|
|
commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless |
|
|
opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Cervantes, salutatorian of |
|
|
the Class of 2015 at Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi, and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Cervantes as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
