R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Amara Hazlewood is graduating as the salutatorian of |
|
|
the senior class of Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi in |
|
|
2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Ms. Hazlewood has demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her |
|
|
favorites being mathematics, science, and history; in addition, she |
|
|
participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including the |
|
|
varsity swim team and National Spanish Honor Society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Kasey Hazlewood-Cooper and Ted |
|
|
Cooper, Ms. Hazlewood plans to continue her education by enrolling |
|
|
at Colorado School of Mines to study chemical engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Amara Hazlewood has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment |
|
|
to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for |
|
|
this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Amara Hazlewood, salutatorian of |
|
|
the Class of 2015 at Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hazlewood as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
