R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Rebecca Buonavita Posa of The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin Cockrell School of Engineering has been named a recipient of |
|
|
a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate student in the Department of Civil, |
|
|
Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, Ms. Posa will |
|
|
receive three years of financial support within a five-year |
|
|
fellowship period; the grant includes both a $34,000 annual stipend |
|
|
and a yearly cost-of-education allowance to the school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The NSF Graduate Fellowship Program supports |
|
|
research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by |
|
|
identifying students early in their graduate careers who have the |
|
|
potential for advancing knowledge in their disciplines; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Rebecca Posa has demonstrated an exceptional |
|
|
commitment to excellence in her field, and she may indeed look |
|
|
forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca Buonavita Posa on her |
|
|
receipt of a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science |
|
|
Foundation and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Posa as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
