R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Amy Griffiths is graduating as the valedictorian of |
|
|
the senior class of W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi in 2015; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Ms. Griffiths has demonstrated a |
|
|
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her |
|
|
favorites being mathematics, science, art, and dance; in addition, |
|
|
she participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including |
|
|
Key Club, student council, and National Honor Society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Laura and Hugh Griffiths, |
|
|
Ms. Griffiths plans to continue her education by enrolling at Rice |
|
|
University to study civil engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Amy Griffiths has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment |
|
|
to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for |
|
|
this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Amy Griffiths, valedictorian of |
|
|
the Class of 2015 at W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she |
|
|
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Griffiths as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
