R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kenneth Kirk Krause of Waco is retiring from the
  Texas Department of Transportation on May 31, 2015, drawing to a
  close an exemplary career spanning almost three decades with the
  agency; and
         WHEREAS, The area engineer in the Waco Area Office, Kirk
  Krause earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Texas
  A&M University and joined TxDOT in 1986 as a project engineer for
  the Dallas District; he played a key role over the next decade in a
  multilevel interchange project at U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway
  190 in Plano, and along the way, he attained his professional
  engineer license; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Krause became an associate area engineer in the
  Waco District's Waco Area Office in 1996, and he continued his
  professional development primarily as a design engineer until 1999,
  when he transferred to the Hillsboro Area Office as assistant area
  engineer; after serving as interim area engineer, he was appointed
  area engineer in 2001; five years later, he returned to the Waco
  Area Office, and in 2013, he was named area engineer; his
  outstanding skills in administration, design, construction,
  maintenance, and management contributed significantly to the
  effectiveness of each office in which he served; and
         WHEREAS, In the next chapter of his life, Mr. Krause intends
  to focus on farming and ranching with his father, and he will enjoy
  having more time for hunting and travel; he is an active member of
  St. Matthew Lutheran Church; and
         WHEREAS, Kirk Krause has greatly benefited his fellow Texans
  through his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to
  excellence, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
  spent; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kirk Krause on the occasion of his
  retirement from the Texas Department of Transportation and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Krause as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
