R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a rich and rewarding life remain to
  comfort the loved ones of Susan Brance Waggoman of Bandera, who
  passed away on April 9, 2015, at the age of 79; and
         WHEREAS, The former Sue Brance was born on May 7, 1935, to
  J. D. and Amoretta Hall Brance in Houston, where she attended the
  Kinkaid School and gained early recognition for her aptitude for
  music; she graduated from Lamar High School and continued her
  studies at the University of Alabama; after moving to Fort Worth,
  she took a job as a secretary at Ridgelie Bank; and
         WHEREAS, In May of 1958, she met her future husband, John
  Waggoman; the couple exchanged their wedding vows the following
  year, relocated to Garland, and welcomed the birth of a son, Jud;
  shortly thereafter, the family made their new home in the Texas Hill
  Country, a place that became very dear to Mrs. Waggoman's heart;
  and
         WHEREAS, A superb chef, Mrs. Waggoman delighted her
  household with her creations, and she later parlayed her flair for
  the culinary arts as a respected member of the international
  gastronomic society La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs; at
  various times, she cooked alongside Julia Child, Wolfgang Puck, and
  Dean Fearing, and one of her proudest achievements was baking a cake
  that claimed the top prize at a high-profile charity event in San
  Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, This accomplished woman continued to nurture her
  musical gifts as well; she performed in hotel lobbies and concert
  halls and earned the admiration of many; and
         WHEREAS, Before her health declined in the later years of her
  life, Mrs. Waggoman would make frequent visits to her relatives and
  friends in what came to be called the "Sue Jet"; she rejoiced in her
  roles as devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she also
  enjoyed the companionship of her sheltie, Marnie; and
         WHEREAS, Sue Waggoman was a lady of remarkable talent, poise,
  and spirit, and she leaves behind a beautiful legacy to be cherished
  by all those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Susan Brance Waggoman
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  husband, John Waggoman; to her son, Jud Waggoman; to her
  grandchildren, Lee Waggoman and her fiancé, Kyle Grest, and First
  Lieutenant Brance Waggoman and his wife, Kate; to her
  sister-in-law, Ann Waggoman; and to her other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Susan
  Brance Waggoman.
