R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Erica Crowder of Windermere Primary School in |
|
|
Pflugerville received the 2015 H-E-B Excellence in Education |
|
|
Leadership Award in the elementary school category; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Presented in cooperation with the Texas Association |
|
|
of School Administrators, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards |
|
|
celebrate public school professionals whose leadership and |
|
|
commitment inspire a love of learning in students of all |
|
|
backgrounds and abilities; the Leadership Award recognizes an |
|
|
elementary school teacher and a secondary school teacher with 10 to |
|
|
20 years of classroom experience, and winners receive a $10,000 |
|
|
cash prize and a $10,000 grant for their schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Crowder has been a kindergarten teacher at |
|
|
Windermere Primary School for 11 years, and her animated |
|
|
personality and love of learning inspire her students and |
|
|
colleagues alike; she has served as a mentor to student teachers and |
|
|
interns, and she also developed an award-winning blog, which offers |
|
|
free resources to teachers and parents, as well as educational |
|
|
games for children; additionally, she has earned more than 30 |
|
|
Donors Choose grants and an Innovative Technology Grant, which have |
|
|
helped her to provide an even more engaging blend of materials for |
|
|
her classroom; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is of paramount |
|
|
importance to the future of the Lone Star State, and by exemplifying |
|
|
the qualities that are the hallmarks of a great teacher, Erica |
|
|
Crowder has set a standard of excellence to which all in her |
|
|
profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Erica Crowder on winning the 2015 |
|
|
H-E-B Excellence in Education Leadership Award in the elementary |
|
|
school category and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success with her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Crowder as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
