R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Bennie M. Hyde of Kerrville on May 4, 2015, at the age of |
|
80; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Kerrville to Benjamin and Viola Hyde on |
|
April 9, 1935, Bennie Hyde graduated from Tivy High School in 1953; |
|
he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for nearly |
|
a quarter-century, spending much of his time overseas and rising to |
|
the rank of senior master sergeant; after retiring from the |
|
military, he earned an associate's degree in electrical engineering |
|
and worked for 15 years at the Y12 Atomic Research Center; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hyde was a devout Christian and a valued |
|
congregant at First Baptist Church in Kerrville; active in his |
|
community, he was a Master Mason and a member of the Grand |
|
Commandery Knights Templar of Texas; he also participated in the |
|
Hill Country Veterans Council; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hyde enjoyed the love and |
|
support of his wife, Mallie, with whom he shared more than five |
|
decades, and he took great pride in his children, Eva, Jason, and |
|
Donna, and his granddaughter, Danielle; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his family, his faith, and his country, |
|
Bennie Hyde earned the respect and admiration of all who were |
|
privileged to know him, and he leaves behind a record of service |
|
that his loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Bennie M. Hyde and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Mallie Hyde; to his children, Eva Hyde, Jason Hyde and his |
|
wife, Dana, and Donna Hyde; to his granddaughter, Danielle Hyde; to |
|
his brother, John Hyde, and his wife, Gina; to his stepsister, Joan |
|
Taylor; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bennie |
|
M. Hyde. |
