R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Eight members of the Midway High School Business |
|
Professionals of America team distinguished themselves by |
|
qualifying to compete at the 2015 National Leadership Conference; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Each of these students demonstrated the knowledge |
|
and skill necessary to advance from the state competition to the |
|
national level; Zach Scott triumphed in the fundamentals of web |
|
design category, and the economic research team of Kiara Lozano and |
|
Christiana Kaul placed first in their event; second-place honors |
|
went to Alex Waitley in entrepreneurship, Jordan Turner in digital |
|
media, and Michael Polk in fundamental accounting; Sophie Tullos |
|
took third place in fundamental accounting, and Ryan Mason finished |
|
third in human resource management; and |
|
WHEREAS, A number of students were also named national |
|
alternates for their third-place showings, including the website |
|
design team of Jose Diaz, Zach Scott, Zach Hartsgrove, and Faz |
|
Patel, the video production team of Jack Saxon, Andrew Dittmann, |
|
Garrett Williams, and Cade Tindell, and the broadcast news team of |
|
Kassidy Buth, Matt Shillinglaw, and Jordan Turner; and |
|
WHEREAS, By participating in Business Professionals of |
|
America events, these students have added to the Midway High School |
|
tradition of extracurricular achievement, and the dedication they |
|
have shown is sure to serve them well in the years ahead; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the students of the Midway High |
|
School Business Professionals of America team on qualifying to |
|
compete at the 2015 National Leadership Conference and extend to |
|
them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
