R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gail Gonzalez of Austin is retiring as director of |
|
|
placement of Child Protective Services for the Texas Department of |
|
|
Family and Protective Services on June 30, 2015, drawing to a close |
|
|
a notable tenure in health and human services that has spanned |
|
|
nearly three decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Iowa State University, Ms. Gonzalez |
|
|
first went to work as a child protective services caseworker in |
|
|
Williamson County in June 1988, and over the course of her exemplary |
|
|
27-year career, she has dedicated herself to protecting and caring |
|
|
for the Lone Star State's most vulnerable residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, this esteemed Texan has |
|
|
enjoyed the love and support of her husband, Bob, and her two |
|
|
children, Christina and John; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deeply committed to her work, Gail Gonzalez has |
|
|
helped survivors of abuse and neglect find their footing in the most |
|
|
challenging circumstances, and in so doing, she has provided |
|
|
countless young Texans with the tools they need to build rewarding |
|
|
and productive lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gail Gonzalez on her retirement |
|
|
from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
