R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, May 4, 2015, marked a very special day in the lives |
|
of Heather Renee' Wells and Richard Lee Wells Jr., for on that day |
|
the adoption of their cherished daughter, Rylee Jean Yu Wells, was |
|
finalized; and |
|
WHEREAS, Native Texans Heather and Richard Wells first met as |
|
teenagers; their love and admiration for one another only grew with |
|
the passing years, and they exchanged the vows of matrimony on |
|
November 28, 1997; seven years into their marriage, they were |
|
inspired to adopt a child from China after hearing adoptive parents |
|
speak at St. Thomas University in Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rylee was born in China on September 5, 2013, and she |
|
was officially welcomed into the Wells family home in South Jordan, |
|
Utah, after a nearly eight-month adoption process; she has two |
|
older sisters, both adopted from China as well, Abigail Mae-Xiao, |
|
who is nine, and Kaylyn CiAnna, who is eight; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rylee's long-awaited arrival has been a source of |
|
great pride for her family and many new friends, particularly for |
|
her grandparents, "PopPop" and "Nana," James and Deborah Sloane, |
|
and "PawPaw" and "MeMaw," Richard and Carlyn Wells, and for her |
|
great-grandmother and namesake, Dorothy Jean Seay, also known as |
|
"Mawmaw"; and |
|
WHEREAS, With Rylee's adoption, Heather, Richard, Abigail, |
|
and Kaylyn Wells have been blessed with a treasured new daughter and |
|
sister, whose love and affection will brighten their days |
|
forevermore; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Wells family on |
|
the adoption of Rylee Jean Yu Wells and recognize Rylee as an |
|
honorary Texan; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the family as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
