R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Kathy Bieser, principal of International School of
  the Americas in the North East Independent School District, was
  selected as one of five finalists in the Principal Secondary
  category of the 2015 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards; and
         WHEREAS, In cooperation with the Texas Association of School
  Administrators, the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards celebrate
  public school professionals whose leadership and commitment
  inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and
  abilities; as a finalist, Kathy Bieser earned a $1,000 prize, and
  her school received a $2,500 grant; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Bieser previously won an H-E-B Excellence in
  Education Award as a social studies and world geography teacher at
  International School of the Americas, a magnet school; before her
  appointment as principal in 2007, she served as assistant
  principal; she completed her bachelor's degree at Trinity
  University and went on to graduate from its Master of Arts in
  Teaching program; and
         WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is of paramount
  importance to the future of the Lone Star State, and throughout her
  career, Kathy Bieser has set high standards to which all in her
  profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kathy Bieser on her selection as a
  finalist in the 2015 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Bieser as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
